PM Abiy Ahmed praises the success of West Gode Irrigation Project in Somali Region

Addis Ababa, January 3, 2025 (FMC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) announced that he visited development activities in Gode, Somali Region, during his second trip to the area since two years ago. The Premier stated that it’s encouraging to see the progress taking place in the area since then.

“Our focus must remain steadfast on development — the path that unlocks opportunities, improves livelihoods, and transforms communities,” the Prime Minister noted.

“I am particularly pleased with the success of the West Gode Irrigation Project. What was once barren land is now being cultivated, with promising potential for producing sesame, wheat, corn, and a variety of horticultural crops.”
