Premier emphasizes economic freedom, peace in the community
Addis Ababa, May 8, 2024 (FBC) – In a public rally held today at Wollega Stadium in Nekemte town of Oromia region, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed emphasized the importance of peace and unity among the Oromo people.
Note that a huge public rally was staged at Wollega Stadium in Nekemte town, East Wollega zone of Oromia region, this morning in support of the ongoing national reforms spearheaded by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
The rally was held in the presence of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Temesgen Truneh, Speaker of the House of Peoples Representatives Mr Tagese Chafo, Speaker of House of Federation Mr. Agegnehu Teshager, chief administrator of the Oromia region Mr. Shimels Abdisa, and other senior federal and regional officials.
The event drew thousands of people from across the zone, with participants gathering at Nekemte stadium to voice their support and celebrate the achievements made in various sectors over the past six years under the current government.
Amidst a sea of banners adorned with messages of unity and endorsement for the reforms, the atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm and optimism. The presence of the Prime Minister and other high-ranking officials underscored the significance of the occasion and demonstrated the commitment of both the national and regional governments to drive positive change.
While addressing the crowd, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of peace and solidarity as well as continued efforts towards building a prosperous and inclusive society.
He also urged the crowd to uphold the progress they’ve made and strive for further positive changes.
Furthermore, the premier underscored the need for economic freedom. He also reiterated his call for maintaining peace within the community.
