PM Abiy Ahmed discusses with community representatives in Nekemte town

Addis Ababa, April 19, 2023 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has discussed with community representatives drawn from East Wollega, West Wolega, Kellem Wollega and Horogudru Wollega Zones in Nekemte town, Oromia Region.

Abba Gaddas, Haadha Siinqees, religious leaders, government officials and others have warmly welcomed the Prime Minister upon his arrival at Nekemte town.

During the discussion, the community representatives from four zones raised issues concering peace and security, development and job opportunities.

“Although Wollega is endowed with nature’s bounty, it has not been able to develop to the extent fitting its resources,” he said, calling for concerted efforts to utilize the resources for the benefit of the people in the area.

“The people of Wolega, who have been fighting for the freedom of the Oromo people, should now stand together and fight for peace and development, he underscored.

The Prime Minister further reiterated government’s commitment work together with the community to address the issues raised by participants during the discussion.
