PM Abiy Ahmed confers with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim ibn Hamad Al Thani 

Addis Ababa, March 5, 2023 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed met with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim ibn Hamad Al Thani today. The two have explored ways of enhancing bilateral ties between their respective countries and exchanged views on regional issues. 

There are many opportunities for Qatari investments in various sectors in Ethiopia, Prime Minister Abiy noted.

“Partnerships and investments are essential for LDCs. Partnerships that are cognizant of the debilitating impact of debt on least developed countries and that are committed to alleviate these burdens by introducing a fast and predictable global framework of debt restructuring.”

During the course of his stay in Qatar, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed also met His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Father of the Emir of the State of Qatar. The discussions revolved around supporting social development and investments in Ethiopia.
