PM Abiy Ahmed appoints ministers in swap for Defense, Irrigation & Lowlands

Addis Ababa, May 20, 2024 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed appointed today Aysha Mohammed as the new Minister of Defense and Abraham Belay as the Minister of Irrigation and Lowland Areas.

This reshuffling sees Aysha returning to her previous role at the Ministry of Defense, currently held by Abraham Belay, who will now take over Aysha’s responsibilities in leading the Ministry of Irrigation and Lowlands.

Additionally, Mohammad Endris, head of Ethiopian Diaspora Service, has been assigned to the Democracy Building Coordination Center with the rank of State Minister

According to the Office of the Prime Minister, the new appointments are scheduled to take effect officially from tomorrow, May 21, 2024.
