Peace agreement process shows Ethiopia’s commitment for sustainable peace: Naledi Pandor
Addis Ababa, April 23, 2023 (FBC) – Addressing the event held in Addis Ababa to mark conclusion of the peace process, Naledi Pandor, International Relations and Cooperation Minister of South Africa, said that Ethiopia has given lessons of peace for Africa.
“The process shows that the lesson of peace for Africa has come from the great nation that has never been colonized, Ethiopia,” she said.
Africans will continue to see a meaningful improvement in the silencing of the guns on our continent, and strengthen efforts to ensure protection and promotion of human rights for the Ethiopian peace process gives a lesson in doing so, she added.
“Africa is endowed with excellent wisdom of mediation and reconciliation. We have to invest on these values to ensure peace and development in the continent,” Naledi Pandor noted.
Ethiopia’s commitment for the peace agreement gives a lesson to the whole Africa that silencing the gun and ensuring peace through dialogue is possible, the South African Minister underlined.
She further called on all parties to uphold their commitment to the full implementation of the Pretoria Peace agreement.
