Pakistani investors express interest to invest in Ethiopia’s industrial parks
Addis Ababa, September 25, 2024 (FBC) – Pakistani investors have expressed a keen interest to invest in aluminum, steel and packaging sub-sectors in the industrial parks and Dire Dawa Free Trade Zones.
Shiferaw Solomon, General Manager of Industrial Projects Services at the Corporation, recently held a meeting with Pakistani investors to explore potential collaboration and investment opportunities.
During the meeting, Shiferaw highlighted the existing infrastructure, investment incentives, and benefits associated with the 13 industrial parks and the Dire Dawa Free Trade Zone. He also underscored the advantages of Ethiopia’s young and educated workforce, the favorable investment environment, and strong government support for industrial parks, which collectively create an attractive investment landscape.
The Pakistani investors acknowledged Ethiopia’s favorable investment conditions and opportunities, embarking on a pre-investment visit to investigate prospects in the aluminum, metal, and paper packaging sectors within the industrial parks.
To further facilitate Pakistani investors’ engagement in the industrial parks and free trade zones, the Industrial Parks Development Corporation is working in close partnership with the Ethiopian Embassy in Pakistan.
