Over 10,000 machetes arranged for alleged terror plot in Addis Ababa seized by police

Addis Ababa, August 21, 2021 (FBC) – Over 10, 000 machetes that have been arranged for alleged terror plot in Addis Ababa have been seized by police in Addis Ababa.

The machetes have been seized as police were raiding a target stockpile based on the information forwarded to it by the community.

A Criminal Investigating Division Head at Addis Ababa Police, Inspector Birhanu Alemu said the machetes have been stockpiled in contrary to the anti-terrorism law of the country.

The public is actively participating in the efforts under way to thwart terror plots perpetrated by the terrorist TPLF group, adding that investigations are being carried out on the captured property.
