Orthodox Church observes holly Thursday with prayers, religious events

Addis Ababa, April 16, 2020 (FBC) –Followers of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church followers marked the Holly Thursday with various liturgical services commemorating the washing of feet and last supper of Jesus Christ with Apostles.

The Ethiopian Orthodox Church Religious leaders and the clergy held prayers and masses at the Holy Trinity Church in the capital Addis Ababa commemorating the Holy Maundy.

Religious fathers and some clergy, while observing the holly day, made supplication to God to save the world from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Archbishops and Bishops washed the foot of the clergy congregated in churches following examples of Jesus Christ who taught humility and love by doing so.
