Oromia Regional State plants over 327m trees in 12 hours

Addis Ababa, July 29, 2020 (FBC) – Oromia Regional State has planted 327,399 million tree seedlings in 12 hours as per the Green Legacy Initiative underway in the country.

Chief Administrator of the regional state, Shimelis Abdissa and other high ranking government officials took part in the tree planting campaign.

It is stated that the tree planting has surpassed the plan which is set to plant 304 Million seedlings a day.

Agriculture Bureau Head of Oromia Regional State, Daba Debelle said out of the 5 Billion seedlings being planted this year, over 3.5 Billion are prepared in the region.
