Oromia Region president extends best wishes on Irrecha Festivity
Addis Ababa, October 1, 2020 (FBC) – President of Oromia Regional State Shimelis Abdissa has extended his best wishes up on the upcoming Irrecha Festival, a thanksgiving day of Oromo people.
He congratulated the Oromo People and all Ethiopians at large for receiving the hopeful harvest season to be marked by the festival of Irrecha.
“Irrecha is a day when the Oromo people praises the bounty of nature created by hands of God,” Shimelis explained, adding “clean hearts and minds are pillars of Irrecha Fesival while vengeance are hatred contrary to the day to be cleared away by the festivity.”
This year’s Irrecha will not be celebrated with millions like the previous years due to the coronavirus pandemic but will be marked with hopefulness anticipating a better future, the president underlined.
He urged the people to consider the humanitarian supports given to those who are in need due to manmade and natural disasters as a gracious deeds presented before God and his creatures while celebrating the Irrecha Festival.
