Oromia President inaugurates 1.4bln Birr Melba printing, publishing and packaging giant

Addis Ababa, May 31, 2021 (FBC) – The President of Oromia Regional State, Shemelis Abdissa along with other high ranking officials has today inaugurated the giant Melba Printing, Publishing and Packaging plant.

The huge printing and packaging factory that has been built by Melba S.C at the town of Gelan at a cost of 1.4 Billion Birr has a capacity of producing over 138,000 books on daily basis, and more than 50,000,000 per annum.

The giant printing and Packaging Company will play an important role in saving in foreign currency through substitution of overseas printing, publishing and packaging with high quality local production.

In addition to addressing local printing and packaging demands, the printing and packaging company will give high quality and dependable services to African countries in the region. Company is said to facilitate employment opportunities for more than 500 people.
