OPEC Fund for International Development acknowledges Ethiopia’s reform agenda

Addis Ababa February 14, 2023 (FBC) – Semereta Sewasew, State Minister of Finance received delegation led by Bah Aly Bah, Eastern and Southern Africa Operation Manager at OPEC Fund for International Development.

According to the Ministry of Finance, on the meeting State Minister Semereta recognized the close working relationship between the Government of Ethiopia and OFID for the past years and requested the fund to scale up its funding and explore new approaches for resource mobilization.

The state Minister indicated that the fund is supporting six on-going projects on infrastructure in Ethiopia.

OFID’s Operation Manager on his part acknowledged Ethiopia’s reform agenda, and conveyed its message on the fund optimistic view over the country economic growth despite all current challenges in the country.

He shed light on the partnership framework agreement of the fund and current status of the projects.

Furthermore the manager further discussed on private sector support, debt issues, future operations and upcoming Doha Ministerial meetings, MoF indicated.
