Omo Kuraz Sugar Plant II resumes operations
Addis Ababa, January 25, 2024 (FBC) – The Omo Kuraz Sugar Factory II has been commissioned to resume production subsequent to the culmination of its yearly comprehensive maintenance and other preparatory undertakings, the Ethiopian Sugar Industry Group confirmed.
It is noted that the factory is anticipated to produce 151,200 quintals of sugar from sugarcane input planted on 3,600 hectares of land.
In addition, the Group confirmed that it has set sights to produce more than 8 thousand 402 tons of molasses and other by-products.
The factory has recommenced full-scale production immediately after the conclusion of its annual comprehensive maintenance and other preparatory endeavors, in alignment with the objectives for the ongoing Ethiopian fiscal year.
It is highlighted that the facility has generated 88,720 quintals of sugar during the financial year 2022/23.
