Offices agree to accelerate mines, petroleum dev’t

Addis Ababa, June 1, 2020 (FBC) –A tripartite agreement has been signed between two ministerial offices and an educational institution to accelerate the development of mines and petroleum in the country.

The agreement was signed between the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Federal Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Institute.

The agreement would help to increase the contribution of the mining sector to the country’s economy by encouraging scientific research in the sector, it was noted.

The three offices agreed to design a curriculum, open training program and produce skilled manpower in selected higher education institutions to efficiently utilize the country’s mines and petroleum resources.
