Norway praises Ethiopia’s role for regional stability

Addis Ababa, July 24, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga, met with State Secretary for International Development at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway, Bjørg Sandkjær, in Addis Ababa on Wednesday.

The two officials discussed the strong partnership between Ethiopia and Norway, particularly in the areas of education, climate change, as well as peace and security.

Ambassador Mesganu emphasized the need to further expand this cooperation.

Furthermore, he extended an invitation to Norwegian businesses to tap investment opportunities in Ethiopia.

On her part, Minister Sandkjær highlighted Norway’s longstanding relations with Ethiopia and appreciation for its role in regional stability.

The two sides also discussed collaboration on climate change mitigation, environmental protection, water resources, and health.

They further discussed various bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest, as per MFA Ethiopia.
