Newly-appointed Japanese Ambassador vows to deepen existing ties with Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, December 13, 2023 (FBC) – The newly-appointed Ambassador-Designate of Japan to Ethiopia, Ambassador Shibata Hironori, today expressed his commitment to deepening the longstanding Ethiopia-Japan cooperation in various spheres.

Ambassador Shibata Hironori made the vow while presenting copy of his credentials to Melaku Bedada, Director General of Protocol Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.

During their meeting, Melaku appreciated Japan’s support in areas of economic development and capacity building and expressed the readiness of the Ministry, to work closely with the Embassy to scale up the longstanding relation of the two countries.

Amb. Shibata Hironori, on his part, expressed his commitment to expand the cooperation of the two countries, especially in the areas of technical assistance and human resource management, during his tenure, per MFA Ethiopia.
