NDC convenes a meeting on academics’ role in cultivating nat’l consensus
Addis Ababa, January 25, 2024 (FBC) – The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (NDC) is deliberating on the contribution of scholars to the attainment of national consensus.
The half-day research seminar is collaboratively orchestrated by the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission and Addis Ababa University (AAU), according to ENA.
Samuel Kifle, the Interim President of AAU, along with Yonas Adaye, Deputy Chief Commissioner of the Ethiopian National Dialogue, and distinguished academia members are participating in the seminar.
The seminar will deliberate on various issues related to national dialogue including global experience besides the role if scholars towards national consensus.
Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission was established by the House of People’s Representatives on the 29th of December 2021 with aim of resolving political differences and disagreements through a broad-based inclusive public dialogue that engenders national consensus.
The Commission has now been carrying out various activities in collaboration with various stakeholders at federal and regional levels to make the national dialogue successful.
It is also in the process of selecting participants and designing agendas from the grass roots.
Selection of participants has also been underway in different parts of the country by exerting maximum efforts to include all stakeholders in the dialogue.
