NBE, IFC sign cooperation agreement

Addis Ababa, July 29, 2024 (FBC) – The Governments of Sweden, Netherlands and Italy partnered with Gates Foundation to forge cooperation with International Finance Corporation (IFC) in a bid to enhance Ethiopia’s banking system.

Accordingly, the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) signed cooperation agreement today.

This initiative supports Micro, Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) by improving credit info, regulatory environment and digital financing services.

Supporting MSMEs through bridging their financial gap is crucial to augment job creation efforts and improve livelihoods of the community, it was stated during the signing ceremony.
