National Dialogue Commission carries out participant identification

Addis Ababa, October 4, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission has carried out identification of participants in five regional states and two city administrations, National Dialogue Chief Commissioner Professor Mesfin Araya disclosed.

The Chief Commissioner, Professor Mesfin Araya, said in the process so far, the commission has been carrying out preparations to enable the national dialogue participatory.

Hence, the commission has carried out discussions with various sections of the society, he said noting that yesterday’s meeting with the Prime Minister and other high level officials is part of the ongoing process.

Stating that the commission has carried out identification of participants in two city administrations and five regional states, he affirmed such activities will be continued.

Deputy Chief Commissioner of the National Dialogue Commission, Hirut Gebre-Selassie, said for her part that this meeting has been productive.

In addition to its support for the success of the activities of the commission, the government has also affirmed its commitment to implement the consensus reached at the end of the national dialogue, she pointed out.
