National Defense Force contributes 51M Birr in response to COVID 19

Addis Ababa, June 5, 2020 (FBC) – The Ethiopian National Defense Force has contributed close to 51 Million Birr in support of COVID 19 emergency response in the country.

Members of the national defense forces have provided their two months’ salary to the national resource mobilization committee in a bid to help fight the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Chief of Staff of the Army, General Adem Mohammed today said the support shows how the national defense force is devoted to stand with the people in times of crisis besides defending the sovereignty of the nation.

General Adem also reiterated commitment of the national defense force to continue support whenever it is needed.

Deputy Prime Minister, Demeke Mekonnen commended the efforts being exerted by the defense forces for the wellbeing of the nation in all aspects.

The support of the defense force which came at this national emergency period what is expected from the army which is accustomed to same commitment in such challenging times.

Peace Minister and Coordinating Secretariat of COVID 19 Ministerial Committee, Muferiat kamil also appreciated the financial aid made by the national defense force adding it came at a time when the second round resource mobilization has started nationally.
