Mr. Iyasu Wosen of Ethiopia elected as president of African Boxing Confederation

Addis Ababa, November 18, 2023 (FBC) – The current President of the Ethiopian Boxing Federation, Mr. Eyasu Wosen, today elected as the President of the African Boxing Confederation.

The 47th Annual General Assembly of the African Boxing Confederation was held today at the African Union Conference Hall in Addis Ababa.

On the occasion, Mr. Eyasu was unanimously elected as the African Boxing Confederation President.

Mr. Eyasu was elected president by beating the Cameroonian candidate Bertrand Menduga and the Moroccan Mohammed Bodir.

Following his election, Eyasu becomes only the second Ethiopian to lead African sports organization, after the former CAF president, Yidnekachew Tesema.
