MoWSA Minister briefed Germany’s Commissioner On Women Empowerment Efforts
Addis Ababa, April 14, 2023 (FBC) – Ergogie Tesfaye, Minister of Women and Social Affairs of Ethiopia, met with Luise Amtsberg, Commissioner for Human Rights Policy and Humanitarian Aid at the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany.
According to MoWSA the objective of the meeting is to have an exchange on women’s rights in Ethiopia, as well as women’s participation in the transitional process, including the National Dialogue and Transitional Justice process.
Ergogie welcomed Luise and her delegates in her office and briefed the duties and responsibilities of MoWSA, especially on the activities of women empowerment and right, MoWSA has stated.
The Minister also raised the strong bilateral relation between Germany and Ethiopia, current situation in the country, the commitment and progress of Ethiopian government on peace process and the National Dialogue to address human rights violations, it added.
Luise Amtsberg on her part stated the comprehensive overview of the current humanitarian situation and the commitment of the government efforts to establish a mechanism for transitional justice to address the human rights violations committed during the conflict, particularly women violations have to be taken in to consideration, MoWSA has indicated.
