More than 37,000 IDPs returning to their homes in Abergele

Addis Ababa, April 4, 2023 (FBC) – More than 37, 000 internally displaced people who were sheltered in Sekota town, Wag Hemra Zone of Amhara Region, are returning to their homes in Abergele district.

The IDPs were leading there lives in camps for more than two years after they had fled their homes due to the conflict in northern parts of the country.

Chief Administrator of the Wag Hemra Zone stated that there are still more than 67,000 IDPs in Sekota town. Sources indicate that Abergele district is currently enjoying relative peace.
