MoLS signs MoU with a Swedish company to advance skill training, labor market

Addis Ababa, August 29, 2023 (FBC) – The Ministry of Labour and Skills of Ethiopia (MoLS) today signed a memorandum of understanding with Miljonbemanning, a Swedish company to cooperate in advancing the efforts of producing skilled manpower and to better govern labor migration.

After signing the MoU, Minister of MoLS, Muferihat Kamil noted that overseas employment is one of the Ministry’s priority areas for institutional reforms. Considering the inevitability of migration, she said that the Ministry is working hard to exploit the global labor market beyond the local market demand and govern migration properly.

Muferihat said that the Ministry has set up a Labour Market and Migration Information System so that interested citizens can legally deploy to different countries across the world with sufficient knowledge and skills and their rights and safety are protected.

The agreement will also enable interested citizens to gain new skills, expedite their movement across the world, helps the efforts in providing skilled workforce for the domestic and overseas labor market.
