Modern sewage treatment plant goes operational in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, January 10, 2025 (FMC) – Mayor of the Addis Ababa City Administration, Ms. Adanech Abiebie, inaugurated the Bole Arabsa modern sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 30 million liters per day.
After launching the plant, the mayor said in a post published on her social media channels that the sewage treatment plant has increased the city’s sewage treatment capacity from 48 thousand cubic meters to 233 thousand cubic meters per day.
She also pointed out that this sewage treatment plant will benefit more than 240,000 local residents from a modern sewage treatment system.
According to the mayor, the plant will advance the sewage disposal system, respond to the long-term complaints of residents and community members in the neighboring areas, and make the city clean, beautiful and more welcoming.
