Ministry stresses role of religions in maintaining mutual respect among people

Addis Ababa, October 13, 2020 (FBC) – Ministry of Peace stressed the role of religious institutions in maintaining the longstanding culture of mutual respect among Ethiopians.

The Ministry held discussions with board members of the Inter-religious Council of Ethiopia on ways of realizing common understanding on shared tasks.

Director General of Peace Building Directorate at the Ministry, Asma Redi said the consultative discussion was aimed to exchange views on a plan set to hold national forum of religious institutions in the country.

On the occasion, the Director General urged religious institutions to remain committed in maintaining longstanding culture of mutual respect and forbearance among Ethiopians.
