Ministry praises Ethiopian for outstanding performance amid COVID

Addis Ababa, December 30, 2020 (FBC) – The Ministry of Finance has commended the Ethiopian Airlines (Ethiopian) for its outstanding performance and applying strategies that were useful in times of crisis.

During a supervisor meeting held with Ethiopian, Ahmed Shide, Minister of Finance expressed his appreciation to the airlines management for having taken flexible and creative measures.

The Minister said these measures have enabled the airline to adapt to crisis proving the airline is one of the top companies in the world.

Tewolde Gebremariam, Group CEO of Ethiopian elaborated how the success of the airlines comes from the dedication and hard work of its board, management, and employees.

He also said that at a time when many airlines went bankrupt and lost their employees, the airline was able to diversify its services boasting its cargo, maintenance, and hotel services allowing it to maintain its status.

He said having in place the correct systems and strategies has made the airline resilient enabling it to thrive in a shifting business environment.

Tewolde also explained about plans to build additional airports and terminals, in different parts of the country.
