Ministry of Health, USAID announce readiness to implement new nutrition and health projects

Addis Ababa, July 17, 2024 (FBC) – Ministry of Health in partnership with USAID announced readiness to implement new health and nutrition related projects. The announcement came at time when USAID officials held a discussion with the Health Minister, Dr. Mekdes Daba.

Feed the Future is a nutrition program implemented by USAID that benefits women, adolescents, and infants better. Patrick Webb, Chief Nutritionist, said that nutrition is a priority for USAID in Ethiopia. He said USAID’s nutrition projects in Ethiopia are bringing about positive results.

Kelly Stewart, Head of Global Health Nutrition Division, USAID is committed to continue technical and financial support for implementation of nutrition projects, pledging continued support for the domestic private sector’s continuous production of food to prevent malnutrition.

Members of the USAID Nutrition Group have discussed with officials of the Health Ministry’s nutrition division on the way to support the triple Nexus project, which encompasses development and peace in Ethiopia.
