Ministry lifts tax imposed on wet blue, pickled skins and hides

Addis Ababa, January 8, 2020 (FBC) – The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI) has fully lifted the tax levied on export wet blue and pickled skins and hides.

The move targets encouraging exports as demand for finished leather decreases at the global market, it said.

The lifting of the tax would help the sector to generate more revenue, in addition to building financial capacity of investors engaged in the leather industry, it added.
