Ministry commends DAG’s support to Ethiopia’s reform agenda
Addis Ababa, March 10, 2020 (FBC) –The Ministry of Finance and the Development Assistance Group in Ethiopia (DAG) held a high-level discussion on development partner’s support to the homegrown economic reform agenda.
In his opening remark, Admasu Nebebe, State Minister of Finance, said the event is an extension of the ongoing DAG’s comprehensive response to support the implementation of Ethiopia’s reform agenda.
During the launch of the homegrown economic reform agenda a few months ago, a request was made for DAG to support Ethiopia’s reform.
Ethiopia requested the group to mobilize additional resources, align existing and new programs with the reform agenda, and support the institutional development across the public service.
The response from DAG members has been very remarkable, said the Ministry on twitter.
It said, the group collectively pledged close to three billion US dollars to finance the homegrown economic reform agenda. The alignment of existing projects with the reform agenda priorities is ongoing at different levels.
The workshop explored how best Ethiopia’s development partners can support institutional development at different levels of government, the Ministry said.
According to the Ministry, the reform aims to make Ethiopia an African prosperity icon.
