Minister stresses the need to modernize logistics sector to global standards
Addis Ababa, October 3, 2024 (FBC) – To achieve national growth through the implementation of local economic reforms, Ethiopia’s logistics and railway sectors must be upgraded to meet global standards, the Transport and Logistics Minister asserted.
A conference focused on the reform being undertaken in the logistics and railway sectors is taking place in attendance of Transport and Logistics Minister Alemu Sme (PhD), Finance State Minister Semereta Sewasew, and representatives from international institutions, along with other senior officials.
During the discussions, Minister Alemu emphasized the importance of aligning the logistics and rail systems with international benchmarks as part of the homegrown economic reform agenda. A study examining stakeholder engagement in these sectors is also being addressed at the forum.
