Minister stresses media role in nation building

Addis Ababa, July 24, 2020 (FBC) – Minister of Peace Muferihat Kamil has underlined the importance of media in nation building.

“Media has a role in building the nation by enlightening a generation” she said at the opening of a workshop on media and hate speech organized by the Ethiopian Broadcast Authority in collaboration with Justice for All-PF Ethiopia.

She said “there is a need for the media to heal itself and become a role model for the members of our society through unbiased and independent reporting.”

The Minister also noted that the media has the potential to be a tool of peace.
