Minister of State for Finance confers with VEON telecom CEO

Addis Ababa, May 16, 2023 (FBC) – Minister of State for Finance, Eyob Tekalign, met with Mr Matthieu Galvani, Group CEO of Veon telecom, the Ministry of Finance, Ethiopia, said.

It is stated that the Ministry of Finance-Ethiopia (MoF) has continued its engagement with parties interested to invest in the Ethiopian telecom sector.

Through a webinar discussion, Minister of State Eyob Tekalign appreciated Veon’s vast experience in developing and frontier economies and expressed interest to work together.

He invited the VEON chief and his team to visit Ethiopia soon to undertake technical assessments and actualize investment engagements.

For his part, Mr Matthieu Galvani, the Veon telecom CEO, appreciated the expanding opportunities in the Ethiopian economy.

He shared his company’s holistic market presence approach, where it plays a role from direct telecom operation to the digitalization of national economies.
