MoFA to launch a strategic policy book on Abbay River, Red Sea
Addis Ababa, February 28, 2024 (FBC) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will officially launch a strategic policy document on Abbay River (Blue Nile) and Red Sea, according to Minister of State for Communications, Ms. Selamawit Kassa.
In her media briefing, she stated that this strategic policy book has six chapters and elucidates Ethiopia’s position on the two water resources.
According to her, the two crucial water resources have been playing integral role in shaping Ethiopia’s interests for centuries and will continue to do so.
Meanwhile, the 128th anniversary of the Adwa Victory will be commemorated this weekend at the newly built Adwa Victory Memorial Museum in Addis Ababa.
The state minister also indicated that the anniversary of Adwa Victory will be observed throughout the country, as well as in embassies and missions of Ethiopia across the globe with befitting events that portray the significance of the day.
Furthermore, Selamawit revealed that French journalist Antoine Galindo was arrested for an attempt to meddle in internal matters of Ethiopia, in contrast to his designated task of reporting on the 37th African Union Summit.
The state minister recalled that journalist Antoine Galindo initially came to Ethiopia and obtained authorization solely to cover the 37th African Union Summit. Nevertheless, he has allegedly been engaging in activities diametrically contradict the purpose of his visit since arriving in Addis Ababa under the pretext of journalism, it was indicated.
