Ethiopia, Germany discuss bilateral, multilateral issues of mutual concern
Addis Ababa, January 15, 2024 (FBC) – State Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga discussed with Chirstian Buck, Director General for Political Affairs and Special Envoy for Libya at the Germany’s Foreign Office.
Ambassador Mesganu expressed the strong partnership between Ethiopia and Germany in development assistance, technical cooperation, trade and investment and the need to enhance the relations.
Ambassador Mesganu further briefed Chirstian Buck about the progress of the implementation of the Pretoria Peace Agreement, the ongoing preparations for the realization of National Dialogue and transitional Justice.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international affairs of mutual importance.
As a longstanding partner and friend, Germany supports the implementation of the Pretoria agreement, Chirstian Buck said via a social media post after his meeting with Ambassador Mesganu in Addis Ababa.
Another social media post from the German official indicates that his trip Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia and seat of the African Union, aims to consult bilaterally, learn more about East Africa, explore ways to end the conflict in Sudan and support transitions in the Sahel region.
