MFA Ethiopia receives copies of credential letters the new EU ambassador-designate
Addis Ababa, September 3, 2024 (FBC) – Director General of Protocol Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Melaku Bedada today received Copies of Credential Letters of the newly appointed Ambassador Designates of France to Ethiopia Alexis Lamek and the European Union to Ethiopia Sofie From-Emmesberg, respectively.
The former chairperson of EU’s Political and Security Committee Sofie From-Emmesberg has been designated recently to take the position of EU Ambassador to Ethiopia, replacing the former ambassador Roland Kobia who has been assigned in Ethiopia from September 2021 to August 2024.
In one of her most recent social media posts, the Finnish diplomat tweeted that she is excited to take up my position as designated EU Ambassador to Ethiopia.
Sofie From-Emmesberg further stated that she is looking forward to collaborate with the Ethiopian government, private sector and civil society to advance the agenda of strategic engagement.
Meanwhile, the new Ambassador-Designate of France to Ethiopia Alexis Lamek has been assigned in place of his predecessor Rémi Maréchaux. Alexis Lamek has been serving as Ambassador of France to Gabon as well as São Tomé and Príncipe.
