Memorial better portrays decisive chapters of Adwa Victory: President

Addis Ababa, February 11, 2024 (FBC) – President Sahle-Work Zewde appreciated the Adwa Victory Memorial as a monumental project that better portrays all the decisive chapters of the Adwa Victory.

In her remarks at the inaugural ceremony, President Sahle-Work stated that the memorial building is capable of narrating major events that led to the victory spanning from how Ethiopians were gathered at central point, marched to the battle field and fought bravely against the invaders.

Saying that the memorial building measures up to the glory of the victory, the President elaborated that the Emperor, Empress, war lords and patriots are well honored through the statues, artefacts and works of art showcased inside the premises of the building.

President Sahle-Work called on Ethiopians to take lessons from what are portrayed on the memorial and preserve national unity towards success of national aspirations.
