Mayors of Addis Ababa, Washington D.C. discuss implementation of the sister city agreements

Addis Ababa, May 27, 2023 (FBC) – The Mayor of Addis Ababa City, Adanaech Abiebie met with met with her Washington D.C. counterpart, Muriel Bowser, in the U.S. capital and held discussion on strengthening bilateral relations.

During their meeting, the two mayors deliberated on ways of implementing the sister city agreements they have signed a few years ago into actions.

“We have agreed that we will work together and exchange experiences on the area of urban planning, revenue collection, transportation, healthcare, water treatment, working with surrounding cities and redeveloping by ensuring the benefit of residents through integrated development projects built by government and private partnerships”, Adanech tweeted after her meeting with Mayor Bowser.

It is indicated that the delegation of Addis Ababa city also visited the capital river front redevelopment projects around Navy yard and recycling projects built by public and private partnerships.
