Mayor says the Great Ethiopian Run illustration of unity, fraternity
Addis Ababa, November 19, 2023 (FBC) – Addis Ababa has successfully hosted the Great Ethiopian Run which has drawn more than 45,000 people together on Sunday.
Ambassadors of several countries based in Addis Ababa and invited elite runners have also participated in the Great Run.
The Great Ethiopian Run has also been graced by the presence of President Sahle-Work Zewde and other high level government officials including the Mayor of Addis Ababa City, Adanech Abibie.
In her remarks regarding the grand race, Mayor Adanech Abiebie, stated that the Great Ethiopian Run, 10-kilometer truck run, is a spectacular event of Addis Ababa and an illustration of our unity, love, and fraternity.
“The Great Ethiopian Run, which has been underway for more than two decades, commenced for the 23rd round today. There were more people—residents, ambassadors, ministers, leaders of international organizations, and athletes—who participated,” the Mayor noted.
“The run has continued to play a significant role in building the new image of our city and strengthening the unity, love, and fraternity of our people,” the Mayor added.
