Mayor of Addis Ababa discusses with U.S. delegates headed by Mayor of Atlanta

Addis Ababa, May 12, 2023 (FBC) – Mayor of Addis Ababa City, Adanech Abiebie, and other officials of the capital’s administration, held a discussion with the U.S. delegation headed by Mayor of Atlanta, Andrew Dickens.

It is stated that the imminent commencement of Ethiopian Airlines direct flight to Atlanta from its hub in Addis Ababa will strengthen the relationship between the two cities and people to people ties.

Adanech confirmed that the two cities have agreed to strengthen their relations, enhance tourism and investment, partner and collaborate in economic and social developments.

She added that Addis Ababa will learn from Atlanta’s experiences and best practices. She hopes to further their relations and city-to city connections.

Recall that upon their arrival at Bole International Airport, the U.S delegates were received yesterday by high-level government officials including CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Mesfin Tasew and Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa, Jantirar Abay.

Furthermore, it is to be remembered that Ethiopian Airlines, the largest network operator in Africa, will commence a new four times a week direct flight between Addis Ababa and Atlanta, starting from 16 May 2023.
