Mayor Adanech meets Atlanta Counterpart; discusses ways to cement cooperation

Addis Ababa, October 25, 2023 (FBC) – Mayor of Addis Ababa City, Adanech Abiebie has discussed with her Atlanta counterpart, Andre Dickens on ways of strengthening cooperation between their respective cities in areas of trade, investment, education, technology transfer, culture and tourism.

Mayor Adanech, during the discussion, commended the role the commencement of Ethiopian Airlines direct flight to Atlanta is playing in reinforcing people to people relations between the two cities and increasing the flow of American tourists to Ethiopia.

The two mayors reached an agreement to set up a joint technical committee they said crucial to take the people to take the partnership between the two cities to the next level.

Mayor Adanech extended gratitude for the honorary doctorate the Trinity International University of Ambassadors Corp. Florida and the State of Georgia conferred upon her, the honorary citizenship of Georgia she received and the warm welcome she was accorded on her arrival.
The Mayor has returned to Addis Ababa concluding her working visit to Atlanta, Georgia.
