Maintaining rule of law won’t be compromised: Attorney General
Addis Ababa, February 13, 2020 (FBC) –Maintaining rule of law will not be compromised, said the Federal Attorney General.
In a statement issued today, it said the Government will no longer tolerate those who will partake in any criminal activities.
The reforms undertaken to ensure rule of law, widen political space and build public trust on the justice system, have brought hope for the people, it said.
The statement added works are underway to bring to justice individuals who are responsible for the conflicts in various parts of the country.
Chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister, federal and regional security and judicial organs held an urgent meeting today to review the current peace situations.
The meeting reviewed works being made in collaboration with the public to sue individuals responsible for ethnic-based violence, conflicts in universities and attacks on religious institutions following the reform.
In order to safeguard the wellbeing of the people and ensure peace, the Government will no longer tolerate any parties involved in crimes, the statement added.
