Leaders of sister political parties of several countries arrive in Addis Ababa for Prosperity Party’s 2nd congress

Addis Ababa, January 30, 2025 (FMC) – Leaders from sister political parties across various nations have arrived in Addis Ababa to participate in the 2nd Congress of Ethiopia’s Prosperity Party (PP), scheduled for January 31 to February 2, 2025.

Among the notable attendees are Mohamed Sadik, a representative of Morocco’s National Rally of Independents (RNI) and former Minister of Agriculture; Wellars Gasamagera, Secretary General of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF); Zafer Sırakaya, Deputy Chairman of Turkiye’s Justice and Development Party (AK); and Abdelkrim Benmbarek, Secretary General of Algeria’s National Liberation Front (FLN).

Upon their arrival at Bole International Airport, the guests received a warm welcome from Ethiopian officials, including Minister of Peace Mohammed Idris, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Birtukan Ayano, Minister of Transport and Logistics Alemu Sime (PhD), and Minister of Agriculture Girma Amente (PhD).

The congress is anticipated to make significant decisions and set strategic directions focused on elevating the party’s position and advancing national development, as noted by Adem Farah, head of the Democracy System Building Coordination Center and Deputy Prime Minister and Vice President of the party. As Africa’s largest political entity, the Prosperity Party will host over 1,700 participants, including high-ranking officials, invited guests, community representatives, competing political parties, and delegates from 15 foreign sister parties.
