Law enforcement measure in Tigray aims to maintain constitutional order: PM Abiy

Addis Ababa, November 8, 2020 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed stated that law enforcement measure the government has been undertaking in Tigray is aimed to bring the rebel group in Mekele to justice and maintain constitutional order in the country.

“First and foremost, the law enforcement measures benefit all people of Tigray.”, the Premier said.

The Premier urged all Ethiopians are to keep their responsibility in protecting brothers and sisters in Tigray from identity based illegal activities amid law enforcement measures being taken by the government.

Operations by Federal Defence Forces underway in Northern Ethiopia have clear, limited, and achievable objectives-to restore the rule of law and the constitutional order, and to safeguard the rights of Ethiopians to lead a peaceful life wherever they are in the country, Abiy tweeted on Friday.
