Lamecha Girma rules the men’s 5000m in 12:58.96 in Xiamen

Addis Ababa, April 20, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s Lamecha Girma has conquered the men’s 5000m race on the opening day of the 2024 Wanda Diamond League season in Xiamen, China, earlier today.

Athlete Lamecha clocked 12:58.96 to finish the distance.

It’s the first time he finishes a 5000m in his career after two DNF’s in the past.

Other world record-holders, Olympic gold medalists and world champions are among the athletes who are getting their outdoor campaigns under way.
