Kuwait University vows to strengthen collaboration with Ethiopian peer institutions

Addis Ababa, June 24, 204 (FBC) – Ethiopian Ambassador Sied Muhumed Jibril (PhD) conferred with Professor Asad al-Rashed, Vice President for Planning of   Kuwait University.

The two exchanged views on the ways to strengthen cooperation between the higher educational institutions of both countries in a range of fields.

Ambassador Seid expressed gratitude for the scholarship opportunities the Government of Kuwait is offering to Ethiopian students every year.

The ambassador also explained about the role public and private and higher education institutions in Ethiopia are playing in addressing socio-economic challenges and supporting development endeavors in the country through research based approaches.

They also explored ways how to conduct joint education and training experience exchanges, and conduct joint researches that are significant to the development of both countries.

Ambassador Seid also requested for additional scholarship programs for Ethiopian students given the presence of a large number of Ethiopians in Kuwait.

Professor Asad al-Rashed, on his part, mentioned that Kuwait university will look forward to working with universities in Ethiopia in the fields of science, engineering, medicine, energy and agriculture, among others.

He also expressed interest to engage in experience sharing and knowledge exchange with Ethiopian institutions in various sectors.

Professor Asad al-Rashed also pledged additional scholarship programs to Ethiopians in Kuwait Universities every year.
