KOICA pledges cooperation to increase Ethiopia’s export products
Addis Ababa, November 14, 2022 (FBC) – The deputy director general of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Ethiopia, Shinyang Lee, stated that they will work in cooperation with the Ethiopian Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration and other stakeholders to increase Ethiopia’s exports.
Shinyang Lee said that the primary objective of the project is to improve the quality of infrastructure development in Ethiopia.
The Deputy Director-General added that they would like to work together on opportunities to increase the quality of products offered to the foreign market from Ethiopia and to substitute imported products with domestic products.
On the first day of the opening ceremony held at the Ethiopian Standards Institute, the two sides made plans to conduct a preliminary survey to test the feasibility of the project.
The Minister of State for Trade and Regional Integration, Endalew Mekonen, said that the relationship between Korea and Ethiopia is deep-rooted, historical, based on friendship and trust.
He confirmed that they will work with the Korea International Cooperation Agency to ensure the mutual benefit of the countries.
The program is said to be completed by the end of November 22.
