Japan pledges support for implementation of Ethiopia’s Transitional Justice Policy

Addis Ababa, October 17, 2024 (FBC) – State Minister for Justice Belayhun Yirga held a meeting with SHIBATA Hironori, Japan’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, to discuss the collaborative efforts between their nations.

During their conversation, they explored potential avenues for deepening cooperation on the implementation of Ethiopia’s transitional justice policy. Belayhun informed Ambassador SHIBATA about the progress setting up the necessary institutions and the development of a roadmap for the policy’s execution.

In response, Ambassador SHIBATA expressed his appreciation for the ongoing initiatives to implement the transitional justice policy, emphasizing its importance in promoting peace and justice in Ethiopia. He reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to supporting this vital process.
