IWPG to hold International Women’s Peace Conference 2024 in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea

Addis Ababa, August 18, 2024 (FBC) – The International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG, Chairwoman Hyun Sook Yoon) will host the International Women’s Peace Conference 2024 on September 19 in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.

The conference will showcase examples of peace activities led by women leaders worldwide. Based on the improved peace outcomes from last year, IWPG will introduce peace action campaigns and encourage participation.

An IWPG official stated, “We have organized this event to show the development of peace activities. We plan not only to share actual examples but to provide direction so that this momentum continues.”

Last year, IWPG held the conference on “The Role of Women for Sustainable Peace,” highlighting the contributions made by women from around the world to establishing world peace. This year, through women leaders’ latest activities, the conference will present concrete and practical action plans to realize peace.

This conference will emphasize women’s peace education, focusing on the outcome of peace initiatives. With the slogan ‘The peace activities themselves can serve as teaching materials for peace education’, IWPG plans to collect the peace efforts of women leaders worldwide. These will be used as another form of peace education to inspire the spirit of peace.

The conference will be part of the 10th commemoration of the Sep 18 World Peace Summit by Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), a partner organization of IWPG. It will be held in 18 major cities in Korea including Seoul and the 6 metropolitan cities, as well as in 122 countries, including the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Ukraine, India, Philippines, etc.

IWPG is an international women’s NGO registered with ECOSOC and DGC of the UN. With the vision ‘realization of sustainable global peace,’ it has been actively working towards fostering global solidarity, promoting a culture of peace, and advancing women’s peace education. Additionally, IWPG supports and advocates for the legislation of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW).
